Who We Are

HoonerMund Foundation was established in 2012 by Rashed Siddiqui in Pakistan and the USA as a non-profit organization (501c3). The goal of HoonerMund is to develop skills of youth who belong to households below poverty level. Around four hundred students in Pakistan have already benefited from this program in the past six years.
Our targeted students are young adults in developing countries who have not been able to pursue academic education, and may be consuming their time in odd jobs without a prospect of a career.
Our goal is that depending on the aptitude & inclination of the youth, he or she is trained in a skill and coached in trade ethics, public dealing and job hunting skills.
It is said that a person with a skill never sleeps empty stomach. It takes only $200.00 to train a candidate in any program.
So far it was solely financed by the family members. The success of this endeavor has given HoonerMund the confidence & courage to expand this charity work throughout Pakistan via our Scholarship Program.
Shamsa Kanwal deserves most of the credit for this success. She is HoonerMund's General Manager in Pakistan and has been instrumental in establishing and growing HoonerMund. Her worry & care for the needy was the driving force behind her dedication and relentless efforts. Shamsa runs day to day activities, as Rashed Siddiqui's counterpart in Pakistan. HoonerMund is proud & fortunate to have a representative like her in Pakistan.

Our Mission
HoonerMund work with a mission to elevate the families from below poverty level and transit them to a decent standard of living. Our targeted pupil belongs to a group of young adults who did not pursue academic education and even don’t ‘have any Hooner (skill) to pursue a career.
Our Vision
HoonerMund's vision is to see all people with no skills and education be trained in a skill. Establish an industry of tradesmen in the Pakistan who are trained, certified and accountable.
